Update

Vai and I have been teaching a few computer classes and also working on a grant proposal to get new computers and also update the lab with better flooring (currently bare cement), new fans, and paint. Vai is a great teacher and I am very lucky to be working with her. The way we have been running classes is I will go first in English and she will follow in Tongan. Many of the people we are working with understand English but it is easier for them to understand in their own language. We have been trying to teach typing to kids, some cooperate and some don't.

Last weekend some friends that own a restaurant called Aquarium in Neiafu threw a "full moon" party on a beach on the island of Otea. They took tents, speakers, and alot of food. We missed the full moon by a couple of days but we had a blast anyway. Alot of my fellow PCVs went along with other palangis from town and a few Tongans made it. Some of us stayed the night and went snorkeling the next day. It was nice to get away for a little while. The picture is of Jason (sitting), me, Justin, and James.

The youth in Makave who are responsible for my housing had been having some trouble with my landlord concerning my water and electricity bills. It was bad enough that they decided they wanted to move me. I wasn't sure what was going to happen but they wound up putting me in a huge three bedroom cement house. I moved in Monday. The new house is still in Makave but 10 minutes closer to the VYC and town. I couldn't believe it when they showed me the house and was worried what people in the village would think but so far they have all thought it was wonderful. I will try and take some pictures of the house when the sun is out (the weather has been nasty lately). I hope everyone is doing well back home!
